Assembly / Finishing
- Weave in the starting tail.
- Insert safety eyes between Rnd 8 and Rnd 9, approximately 5-6 stitches apart.
- With pink embroidery floss, embroider a small nose between the eyes, one round below them.
- Stuff the head and body firmly with fiberfill as you go, ensuring a nice round shape.
- Close the opening of Rnd 14 by weaving the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch and pulling tight. Secure and weave in the end.
- The opening at Rnd 13 is designed to fit over the top of a standard soda can. Gently push the cat amigurumi onto the can.
Tips
- Use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round, especially for spirals.
- Pull your stitches tight for amigurumi to avoid stuffing showing through.
- For a tighter fit on the soda can, you can go down half a hook size. For a looser fit, go up half a hook size.
- Always crochet a gauge swatch to ensure your finished item will be the size you desire. This pattern’s stitch counts are verified, but size depends on your personal gauge.
