Bear Bag Charm

A tiny, adorable bear head to adorn your bag or keys.

Materials

• Worsted weight yarn, 100% acrylic, approximately 20 yards (18 meters)
• 3.5 mm crochet hook (US E/4)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Stitch marker (optional)
• Small amount of black embroidery floss for eyes and nose
• Polyester fiberfill for stuffing

Foundation

Make a magic ring.

Body

Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts) Rnd 2: [inc] 6 times. (12 sts) Rnd 3: [sc, inc] 6 times. (18 sts) Rnd 4: [sc 2, inc] 6 times. (24 sts) Rnd 5: [sc 3, inc] 6 times. (30 sts) Rnd 6: [sc 4, inc] 6 times. (36 sts) Rnd 7-14: sc around. (36 sts) Stuff the head firmly with fiberfill. Sl st to the first sc and FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly / Finishing

1. Ears (make 2):
   • Make a magic ring.
   • Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
   • Sl st to the first sc and FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
2. Flatten the ears and sew them to the top of the head on Rnd 11, approximately 7 stitches apart.
3. Using black embroidery floss, embroider two small eyes between Rnd 8 and 9, about 5 stitches apart.
4. Embroider a small triangular nose directly below the eyes.
5. Use the remaining yarn tail from the head to close the opening by weaving it through the front loop of each stitch and pulling tight. Weave in any remaining ends.
6. To create a loop for hanging, cut a 6-inch piece of yarn, fold it in half, and attach it to the top of the bear's head with a slip knot. Tie the ends together to form a secure loop.

• Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round, especially for beginners.
