Assembly / Finishing
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave the tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch and pull tight to close the opening. Weave in all loose ends. If adding handles, attach them securely to the top of the sphere, ensuring even placement. For a more durable bag, consider sewing a fabric lining inside.
Tips
- Use a stitch marker to mark the first stitch of each round to keep track of your progress.
- Work your stitches tightly to prevent gaps, especially important for bags.
- For a cleaner finish, use the invisible decrease method (insert hook into front loop of first stitch, then into front loop of second stitch, yarn over and pull through both front loops, yarn over and pull through remaining 2 loops on hook).
- Crochet a gauge swatch to ensure your finished bag will be the desired size.
