Assembly / Finishing
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Thread the tail through a tapestry needle. Weave the tail through the top of the last round (the unworked front loops if you've been working in BLO, or just through the top of each stitch if you prefer). Pull tightly to cinch the top of the hat closed. Secure with a few stitches. Weave in all remaining ends. If desired, attach a pom-pom to the top of the hat.
Tips
- To adjust the hat's height, add or remove rounds from the body section.
- To adjust the circumference, add or remove stitches from the foundation chain (make sure the number of stitches is appropriate for your head size and maintains the ribbed pattern if applicable).
- Always crochet a gauge swatch to ensure your finished item matches the intended size.
