Crochet Pattern

Here is a beginner amigurumi sphere pattern.

Please remember to crochet a gauge swatch before you begin. Your exact fit and finished size are not guaranteed if your gauge differs.

Materials

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (e.g., acrylic or cotton). Approximately 30-40 yards/meters.
• Hook: 3.5mm crochet hook

Gauge

16 stitches / 10 cm in single crochet. 18 rounds / 10 cm in single crochet.

Abbreviations

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• inc: increase (2 single crochet in one stitch)
• dec: decrease (single crochet 2 together)
• sl st: slip stitch
• st(s): stitch(es)
• * *: repeat instructions between asterisks

Instructions

This sphere is worked in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round.

Round 1: Make a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts) Round 2: *inc* 6 times. (12 sts) Round 3: *sc, inc* 6 times. (18 sts) Round 4: *sc 2, inc* 6 times. Begin to stuff your sphere firmly. Continue stuffing as you go.

Round 10: *sc 4, dec* 6 times. (30 sts) Round 11: *sc 3, dec* 6 times. (24 sts) Round 12: *sc 2, dec* 6 times. (18 sts) Round 13: *sc, dec* 6 times. (12 sts) Round 14: *dec* 6 times. (6 sts)

Finishing

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Using a yarn needle, weave the tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch. Pull tight to close the opening. Weave in any remaining ends.
